A blog,which is a contraction of the term weblog,is a kind of website in which an individual makes entries of commentary description of events,or other material e.g graphic or video.The entries are displayed in reverse-chronological order.A blog can be anything you make it.It can be your diary/journal or even a collection of poems.
Blogging has really exploded in recent years and many bloggers have benefited from this upsurge.As internet usage keeps increasing exponentially,there's no telling how big this thing could get.You too could jump into the band wagon and make some exploits up in blogosphere.
Getting started is really easy.As a newbie you'd want to start with free hosted blogs.This is convenient because you wont spend a dime and you get to make mistakes and learn from them without getting burnt.You also get to learn a few tricks here end there on how to make your blog successful.
So how do you make money.The big q right?once your blog is up and running and you have good traffic,you can monetize it by signing for google AdSense program or chitika.AdSense is a type of contextual advertising.Google robots find the ads relevant to your content and you can set them up as text ads or banners.The beautiful part is that signing up for AdSense is totally free.I'll talk about this in detail in coming posts.
You can also put affiliate links on your blog.These links lead your traffic to a selling page for the product you are promoting.You earn a commission whenever the product is bought.Again i'll go into detail about this later.For now,to get you started,go to your search engine and search for "free blogs".There are many out there but personally i prefer blogger.com.Setting up a blog is quite easy.You just follow simple instructions.alternatively you could use wordpress.com or livejournal.So go right ahead and try it out.
